Living with an addiction affects many people including loved ones, friends and family and of course the person who is addicted. In Australia it is frightening to see many women who have an addiction to drugs, alcohol, gambling, drugs, nicotine, online gaming and shopping.

Living with someone who has an addiction can also be very devastating. The affects, the emotions and the physical abuse that some live with is, is heartbreaking when you can’t do anything to help them. However there are groups around that can support people who are addicted but it would be nice to see support groups for those who live with people who have addiction.

True life experiences, some things are often too hard to comprehend and it may take some time before they even realise that they have an addiction. Life is not easy for people who live with someone who has an addiction. And often they appear to be blind to the fact that they are hurting the people around them and in some cases destroying their own lives.

Some of the consequences of living with an addicted person can include, separation, physical, emotional and mental abuse. The loss, the anguish can be come too much no matter how much the family loves the person who is addicted.
